What do you want to get out of your career? The answer usually isn’t just “an income.” We all have dreams of what we’d like to accomplish in our career. Some people imagine being at the head of a business, leading the rest of the team to success. Others just want a job where they feel like they’re making a difference.
Sometimes, to stay positive and focused on life, it is essential to understand our emotions. As humans, we have our brains hardwired for emotions, but too much can cause many stress-related health challenges in our lives. It’s easy to get overwhelmed today. Like many, you might need to juggle family responsibilities with work and other commitments.
This week is back to school for the kids! No matter how you look at it, everyone is busy. Parents and kids! This can make it difficult to spend quality time together as a family. We all feel guilt as parents in one way or another – some needing to work full-time, others being full-time at home with the kids wishing they could be doing something for themselves.
One skill I’ve really worked on since COVID started is to be fully present – also known as mindfulness! Mindfulness means bringing your attention to the present moment, with curiosity, and without judgment. Being present means you’re not in the future, and not in the past. It is recognising and appreciating the good things ALREADY in your life.
The lives of teens are complicated. They are in the process of finding themselves, finding their identities in this world, and trying to better themselves. It is not easy for anyone to do and teens often need additional motivation for many things in life. Whether they want to get through high school with good grades or have a positive mindset, there are plenty of benefits that come from being motivated that can significantly improve their lives.

Random acts of kindness can be defined as, “Something selfless that you do to help another being that they cannot do themselves, without any expectation of reward and without any fanfare or publicity. Just because you can.” These moments can have the most wonderful ripple effect.
